THE AUTHOR

My name is Nasia Nguyen. I am a student pursuing a double major in Communications and Business at the University of Maryland, College Park. I am currently in an blended learning english class. This website was created to showcase my semester long research findings on the probable new epidemic of ADHD and it's causation.

WHY I CHOSE THIS TOPIC

Recently, I came across the rising ADHD diagnosis rate and the topic of media induced ADHD and became concerned for the world's well being. Prior to conducting research I did not know a single thing about ADHD besides that it’s a disorder.

THE WEBSITE

This website will be a summary of what I learned over the semester. It will introduce different perspectives in the discourse of ADHD and it's causation. There are people of various professional backgrounds who believe ADHD is an epidemic and provide various causation for it. On the other hand there are people who do not believe it is an epidemic, but an over reaction or miscalculation. Lastly, the website will provide my answer to the overacting question of whether or not the epidemic exists and what can be done next.

THESIS

My thesis is that the ADHD epidemic is falsified from misdiagnosis and insufficient research which resulted in false statistics and that media induced ADHD does not exist.
